Russia’s Nobel Peace Prize winner urges Putin to be tried for war crimes

A number of Russian Nobel Peace Prize winners have condemned the insane war and criminal acts committed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Ukraine. They demanded that Putin be tried for the war crimes he had committed in Indonesia Ukraine.

As CNN reported on Sunday (11/12/2022), one of the Nobel laureates who criticized him was Yan Rachinsky. Rachinsky says resistance to Russia is known as fascism under Putin.

“This has become the ideological justification for an insane and criminal war of aggression against Ukraine,” Rachinsky said.

Not only Rachinsky, another Ukrainian Nobel Peace Prize winner, Oleksandra Matviichuk, has called for an international tribunal for Putin and Belarusian strongman Alexander Lukashenko. He urged both to be tried for war crimes.

“This will be a way of delivering justice to those affected by the war,” he said.

Matviichuk also warned that war criminals shouldn’t be punished only after an authoritarian regime falls. He insists that justice cannot wait.

“We must establish an international tribunal and bring Putin, Lukashenko and other war criminals to justice,” he continued.
