TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Vladimir Putin is more likely to pursue an all-out nuclear war than admit defeat to Ukraine, an editor of Russian state TV has said Independent.
Margarita Simonyan, editor of the state broadcaster RT and one of the Kremlin’s leading media bosses, made the statement on TV on Wednesday (27/4/2022) evening.
He stated that Putin was more likely to launch a nuclear strike than admit to failing in a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
“Either we lose at Ukraineor the Third World War begins,” Simonyan said.
“I think the Third World War is more realistic, seeing how we are, seeing how our leaders are.”
“The most extraordinary ending, that all of this would end in a nuclear strike, seems more likely to me than any other chain of events.”
“It makes me cringe on the one hand, but on the other hand, that’s how it is.”
