A Russian Su-25 attack aircraft crashed in the Sea of Azov near the city of Eysk. The pilot was able to eject and was rescued, according to Russian authorities.
The initial information was contradictory, as according to some sources on social networks, the pilot became entangled in the ropes of the parachute and did not survive.
Footage shared on social media shows a parachute descending over the sea near a beach and falling into the water.
No civilians were injured.
According to initial data, the plane’s engine failed during a training flight.

Eysk is a resort town on the coast of the Sea of Azov, in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, near the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
The Su-25 twin-engine attack aircraft has been in service with the Soviet and Russian air forces since the 1980s. It was used massively during Russia’s offensive in Ukraine.
The Russian Air Force has suffered a series of crashes that some observers say are the result of the increased number of flights in the midst of the fighting in Ukraine.
