A unit of Russian special forces in the Chernihiv region of northern Ukraine seized a group of modernized tanks, and enemy crews withdrew without resistance, according to a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The video shows a group of four Ukrainian T-64BV tanks. In particular, the ammunition is displayed inside the tanks, including those loaded. The war machines have no visible damage.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, unlike the main combat vehicles, these Ukrainian tanks are equipped with night vision goggles and surveillance devices, as well as NATO communication and navigation equipment.
“The reconnaissance group was given the task to reconnoiter a section of the Chernigov-Gomel highway. During the reconnaissance, the location of two T-64 tanks was revealed.
The crew of the tanks did not resist – they withdrew. The equipment was delivered to the temporary deployment point, “said a member of the special forces group.
He added that the combat vehicles are fully armed and ready for use. According to him, parts of the Russian armed forces have fortified themselves on the highway in the strategically important direction Chernigov-Gomel, which has enabled the unimpeded transportation of goods and military equipment.
