Russian President Vladimir Putin and the United Nations (UN) urged Israel and Palestine to stop the conflict from happening. This demand was conveyed for the safety of the citizens of both parties to the conflict.
As reported by the APF, Thursday (13/5/2021), Vladimir Putin and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres agreed to jointly call for an end to the fighting between Israel and Palestine. Both of them voiced this after the conflict between Israel and Palestine grew bigger.
“Given the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, it is stated that the main task is to stop acts of violence on both sides and ensure the safety of the civilian population,” the Kremlin Palace said in a statement.
According to a Kremlin Palace source, the two leaders also called for discussion of a solution for the two countries. This was done, in order to create peace in Israel and Palestine.
Guterres even said the UN was “fully prepared” to continue the work of the Quartet and facilitate dialogue between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
To note, the conflict between Israel and Palestine has recently developed in the aftermath of clashes that injured hundreds of people at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that until now the conflict had claimed 84 victims of Palestinians, 17 of whom were children.
Not only Palestine, the Israelis also lost 6 of their citizens as a result of the conflict and an Indian citizen was also confirmed dead. Hamas claims it was the result of rocket attacks on several areas in Israel which was carried out by its party some time ago.
