Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalni’s brother in custody was arrested by Russian police.
According to Reuters news agency on the 27th (local time), a Navalni aide said that the day the police searched Navalni’s apartment and arrested his brother.
Earlier, Russian police searched Navalni’s apartment and the Moscow offices used by Navalni and his aides.
The government seems to be raising the level of pressure as voices from domestic and abroad demanding the release of Navalni are rising.
Reuters said, “It appears to be due to tens of thousands of supporters coming out to the streets on the 23rd and urging the Kremlin to release him.”
Navalni lost consciousness after drinking black tea containing poisonous substances at the airport in August of last year, was carried to Germany, and returned home on the 17th after treatment, but was immediately arrested at the airport.
Navalni is one of President Vladimir Putin’s biggest opponents and has argued that Putin is behind the poison terror.
