Russian paratroopers killed in accident during exercise Belarus | Abroad

Soldiers from both allies held an exercise in western Belarus, where several thousand migrants from the Middle East are trapped in the border area. They are a plaything of the regime of Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko, who has laid out the carpet for migrants in retaliation for European sanctions.

The exercise by Russia and Belarus was near a large migrant camp, according to Polish media. Poland is trying to keep the migrants away with a fence, police officers, border guards and at least 15,000 soldiers.

Russian President Putin wants the European Union to enter into talks with Belarus to resolve the matter. In the meantime, the European Commission has succeeded in persuading countries such as Iraq and Turkey not to bring new people to Belarus.

The crisis threatens to escalate further as the EU has announced new sanctions for Belarus next week. NATO countries said on Friday that they are vigilant and prepared for new “provocations.” “NATO allies call on Belarus to stop these actions, respect human rights and fundamental freedoms and comply with international law.”
