The mercenaries of the Russian Wagner Group have complained to the Kremlin about the conditions in which they have to do their work. According to the Wagner Group, there are regular unsafe and unhygienic work situations. After a building was blown up that turned out to contain asbestos, the mercenaries have had enough.

According to the mercenaries, the leadership in Moscow ignores almost all occupational health and safety rules. “Our mercenaries often work irregular, long shifts and are not compensated for this. Our fighters sometimes have to lug heavy guns for hours on end. As a result, they can eventually suffer from back problems,” says spokesman Andrei Yevnoshin.

According to the mercenaries, hygiene also leaves much to be desired. “In places where the sanitary facilities have been blown up, the Kremlin has arranged mobile toilets, but that is not enough in our opinion,” says Yevnoshin. “In Bachmoet it is one big mess after our last bombing. How long will it be before someone pulls a vacuum cleaner through it?”
