From January 19 to 21, 2024, the second ever Russian jumping championship will be held at the Moscow CSKA Arena. Let us remind you that the current winners of the tournament are Kamila Valieva and Grigory Fedorovas well as the team of Evgeni Plushenko (Sofia MuravyovaSofya Titova, Veronika Zhilina, Makar Ignatov, Nikita Sarnovsky, Peter GumennikAnastasia Mishina/Alexander Gallyamov).

Skaters in singles and pairs skating born in 2011 and older are allowed to participate in the individual tournament. On January 19, applicants for participation in the final stage will face qualifications, in each round of which athletes will compete with each other in performing a given set of elements. No more than 12 skaters will qualify for the main singles draw; for pairs, the main draw has 8 slots.

Individual tournaments will be held on January 20, and team tournaments on January 21. Unlike last year, this time two teams will compete, consisting of two pairs, three singles, three singles and one invited athlete. Participants in the team tournament are guaranteed to be:

  • top 2 of the Russian Championship in pairs (Mishina/Gallyamov, Boykova/Kozlovsky);
  • top 3 of the Russian Championship in singles (Petrosyan, Muravyova, Valieva and Semenenko, Dikidzhi, Gumennik).

The teams will also include winners of individual jumping tournaments. It is not specified who exactly the invited athletes will be. Team compositions, performance order and colors will be determined by drawing lots. One of the team members will become the captain.

Russian Jumping Championship 2024: regulations

In the qualification of the individual singles tournament, applicants will perform one solo jump and one cascade of two jumps (two attempts per element), in the qualification of the pair skaters will perform a twist, solo jump and throw (one attempt per element, but if there are four revolution, the number of attempts increases to two).

In the main individual singles tournament there will be four rounds: one solo jump and a cascade of no more than two jumps, two solo jumps and a cascade of no more than two jumps, one solo jump and a cascade of no more than two jumps and a cascade of no more than three jumps, two solo jump and a cascade of no more than two jumps and a cascade of no more than five jumps. What is important: the oiler counts as a jump, and variety is also necessary – in the rounds, one of the solo jumps and the first jump in one of the cascades must be different from each other. No more than two attempts are given to perform each element.

In the main pairs tournament there will be three rounds: one twist and one solo jump and one throw, one twist and one cascade of no more than two jumps and one throw, one twist and one cascade and two different throws. No more than one attempt is given to perform each element, but if there are four rotations, the number of attempts increases to two.

There will be five rounds in the team tournament: two twists and two different cascades of no more than three jumps and two different throws (here doubles, hereafter singles), two different solo triple jumps, two different solo quadruple jumps, two cascades of no more than three jumps (the first jumps in cascades must be different), two cascades of no more than five jumps (the first jumps in cascades must be different). There is no room for error in a team tournament: one attempt is given per element, all of them count towards the score.

The execution of elements is assessed according to the current ISU system.

Russian Jumping Championship 2024: prize fund

Personal tournament:

  • 1st place – 1 million rubles;
  • 2nd place – 0.5 million rubles;
  • 3rd place – 0.25 million rubles.

Also, participants in a personal tournament can earn 0.25 million rubles for the best performance of a twist/throw/solo jump/cascade of no more than two jumps/cascade of no more than three jumps/cascade of no more than five jumps – in theory, you can be eliminated in the first round , but thanks to the chic solo element, you will still end up with money.

In the team tournament, the winners will divide 5 million rubles among themselves, the losers will get 3 million rubles.
