Russian hospitals full: Omsk “fast” Covid-19 patients are taken to the regional Ministry of Health – Abroad – News

The first ambulance arrived at the Ministry of Health building after 9 pm and brought 70-year-old Covid-19 patients. In computed tomography, a woman was diagnosed with lung damage in the amount of 81%, but due to the lack of beds in the hospital, she could not be hospitalized.

Doctors guided the woman through the city for more than 10 hours until she arrived at the building of the Ministry of Health to ask the head of the department Irina Soldatova, where to hospitalize the patient, citing the media “NGS Omsk”, “Medusa” reports.

“We couldn’t find an answer anywhere anymore and decided to ask, maybe they will tell us there. The patient needs 100% hospitalization, I can’t take him home for human or medical reasons,” the brigade doctor said.

She added that there are cases in almost every duty room where patients have nowhere to take because the hospitals are full. Relatives of the sick senior, on the other hand, said that they had tried to call an ambulance for three days. On October 27, the woman was finally taken to the hospital for a computed tomography scan, but she was denied admission.

Later, two more ambulances arrived at the building of the Ministry of Health of the Omsk region, writes “Komsomolskaya Pravda”. The second car involved an 85-year-old man with 88% lung damage, who was also not hospitalized. The third car contained the extra oxygen needed by both patients.

To attract the attention of officials, cars have turned on sirens, but no one has come out of the Ministry of Health. However, an ambulance soon went to one of the city’s hospitals with the patients. A little later, the police approached the ministry building.

Maxim Stukanov, chief physician of the Omsk region ambulance station, did not deny the media “Komsomolskaya Pravda” that the hospitals were in trouble. “In the morning we drove around the city looking for empty places in the hospitals. Now the places have started to become vacant, two beds have appeared in the Second Hospital. We are fighting further,” he said.

15,006 cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the Omsk region since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the Federal Operational Staff for Coronavir Control, of which almost 5,000 have been registered in the last month. 11,917 people have recovered and 402 have died. With the onset of the second wave of the epidemic, residents of the region reported a shortage of places in hospitals for Covid-19 patients and difficulties in calling an ambulance.

Russia has already reportedly tightened restrictions on fighting the new coronavir on Tuesday, including making face masks mandatory in public places. From 23:00 to 06:00, public events will be prohibited and cafes and restaurants will be closed.
