Russian developers raised over 500 thousand dollars on Kickstarter in a few hours for the release of “Tamagotchi for hackers”

The Flipper Zero Multi-Device Handheld Multi-Device Development Team on Day 1 of Kickstarter collected more than 500 thousand dollars.

Project author, founder of the Neuron Hackspace community for techno-enthusiasts Pavel Zhovner told tweeted that the first $ 60,000 needed to start production was raised in eight minutes.

Founder of the Flipper Zero project calls device “Tamagotchi for hackers”. The device can control TVs, open intercoms, garage doors, barriers, clone proximity cards and memorize hundreds of remote controls. In addition, Flipper Zero is a cyber dolphin virtual pet that grows as the user interacts with digital devices in the real world.

Since the developers have raised more than 300 thousand dollars, a Bluetooth module will appear in Flipper Zero. If they collect 700 thousand, then it will have an NFC module, which is necessary for the exchange of data between devices that are at close range.

Flipper costs $ 169. For Kickstarter, the developers have made a limited number of offers of $ 99, $ 119 and $ 129. At the time of writing, the $ 99 devices are already out of stock.

Flipper is scheduled to ship in February 2021.
