A person was killed in a very large fire in an apartment in an apartment on the Hogeweg in Vlissingen on Thursday evening. Three others were injured in the fire, Zeeland Safety Region reports on Twitter.
The fire broke out at around 8.50 pm after an explosion and spread to floors above the apartment in question.
The fire brigade pulled out with multiple units and two aerial platforms. A trauma helicopter is also on site. According to the safety region, the fire brigade is first committed to rescuing residents of the apartment building.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown.
