Russian Court Dismisses Putin’s Detention Appeal for Navalni… Protesters’ protest notice

– On the 28th (local time), a Russian court dismissed the appeal of opposition leader Alexei Navalni, who has been considered an opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

– According to the media, a Russian court on the day rejected Navalni’s appeal requesting release and ordered him to continue detention. Reuters added that Navalni could be sentenced to several years in prison.

Earlier on the 18th, the court sentenced Navalni to 30 days of detention for violating the probation rule. Navalni returned to Russia on the 17th of this month after receiving intensive treatment in Germany after being addicted to the poison nobichok at the airport in August. Authorities immediately arrested him at the airport.

Over the weekend, citizens protested across Russia, including the capital Moscow, calling for Navalni’s release.

– Western countries, including the United States, are also demanding the release of Navalni. On the 26th (local time), President Joe Biden expressed concern over the matter in his first call with President Putin. Next, Secretary of State Anthony Blincoln said at the first press conference, “It is clear that chemical weapons were used in his assassination attempts.”

Reuters reported that Navalni’s aides are foreshadowing another protest this weekend.
