Russian An-26 Sent to Search for Downed Su-24M Pilots in the Black Sea

Destruction of the Russian Su-24M

Earlier today, December 5, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the destruction of the Russian Su-24M bomber. The enemy plane was shot down near Zmeiny Island.

As Ukrainian defenders clarified, the Su-24M of the invaders was destroyed when, under the cover of a Su-30SM fighter, it tried to launch a missile and bomb attack on the south of the Odessa region.

In a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, Navy spokesman Dmitry Pletenchuk said that the destroyed plane was laying mines to harm the grain corridor.

Later in the evening, President Vladimir Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters for shooting down the Russian Su-24M bomber. The head of state noted that the Defense Forces will continue to “minus” terrorists.
