security Council United Nations (UN) held a moment of silence for one minute on Friday (24/3) local time to honor the victims who died in the war Ukraine. Secretary General (Secretary General) of the United Nations Anthony Guterres call invasion Russia has destroyed Ukraine.
“Life is like a living hell that the Ukrainian people are living,” Guterres told the UN Security Council on the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as reported by the United Nations. AFPSaturday (25/2/2023).
“Peace has no chance. War has reigned today,” he said.
“The Russian invasion is a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international law. It has resulted in death, destruction and widespread displacement of many,” said Guterres.
The war in Ukraine was condemned by most members of the UN Security Council in a symbolic meeting on Friday (24/2) local time to mark the anniversary of the Russian invasion.
Furthermore, Guterres revealed that more than 8 million Ukrainians fled to several other European countries to escape war and about 5.4 million other people lost their homes.
“A refugee crisis unseen in Europe in decades,” Guterres said.
