Russia fights like in the Middle Ages, executing the civilian population in the occupied Ukrainian territories, raping women and children and deporting Ukrainians to remote regions of the Russian Federation.
This was stated by US Permanent Representative to the OSCE Michael Carpenter during a meeting of the UN Permanent Council in Vienna, quotes Ukrinform.
“Russia has many modern weapons of war: cruise missiles that travel hundreds of miles, hitting their target with amazing accuracy. It has precision guided munitions that can be launched from air, sea and land. But why is this war being waged as if we were living in the middle Ages?” Carpenter asked.

He added that plundering resources in the occupied territories and forcing the population to flee is “another medieval tactic.”
“Sadistic atrocities and a very targeted ‘filtering’ process may well have a purpose. Especially if that purpose is to deny the very concept of Ukrainian statehood in areas that the Russian Federation now controls in order to more easily absorb these parts of Ukraine,” Carpenter said.

The enemy has concentrated efforts to capture the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Russians moved deep into Severodonetskbut the Ukrainian defenders hold their positions.
