Russia stated that it carried out a combat training launch of a mobile-based solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile PGRK Yars, equipped with a multiple warhead.
Po statement Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the launch was carried out at the Plesetsk state cosmodrome by the crew of the Yoshkar-Ola missile formation.
It is alleged that the training combat units arrived at a given area at the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
The purpose of the launch was to confirm the tactical, technical and flight characteristics of the modern missile system, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“In preparation for this event, the Strategic Missile Forces worked out the procedure for redeploying the Yars PGRK launch battery to a remote area with preparation and execution of the launch. All assigned tasks were completed in full,” the Russians claim.

It was previously noted that the 23-meter-long Yars (RS-24) missile is designed to deliver multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs), which allegedly allow the missile to deliver multiple nuclear warheads to different targets.
Previously, the launch of the Yars rocket was reported at the end of October 2023.
