The Russians “coped” with the lack of popular carbonated drinks, creating their local counterparts. On the shelves of shops in Russia in place Coca-Coli CoolCola appeared, instead of Fanta – Fancy, Sprite drink was replaced with Street – reports “The Moscow Times”. Their producer is the Russian company Ochakovo.

While Coca-Cola products can still be found in Russian stores, their prices have risen by around 200 percent since March.

“CoolCola has the cult flavor of cola” – Ochakowo advertises on the Internet.

This is not the only attempt by Russian producers to replace consumers with a well-known drink with American origins. In the Far East of Russia, the local company Slavda Group launched the Grink Cola drink in an attempt to win the hearts of soda lovers in Russia. In the northern region of Russia – Komi, the Syktyvkarpivo factory has launched its own brand of carbonated drink – Komi Cola. However, none of the drinks conquered the market – customers complained that the counterfeit Coca-Cola is not, like the original, “sweet and sparkling”.
