Russia announced shelling of the Druzhba oil pipeline on its territory

The Russian company “Transneft” reported on attempted shelling of an oil pumping station through which the Druzhba oil pipeline passesreports the BBC Russian service.

The gas station is located in the Novozybkovskiy district of the Bryansk region, and the attempted shelling is said to have taken place on the evening of January 31.

The company announced that the oil pipeline was operating normally, and there were no casualties as a result of the shelling.

“Last night (January 31) there was an attempt to fire at the Novozibkov oil pumping station. The station is used during peak loads of the Druzhba oil pipeline. The last time this pumping station was switched on for a few hours was last year,” said Igor Demin from Transneft.
