KIEV, August 23. / TASS /. The condition of the leader of the Batkivshchyna party, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, who has contracted the coronavirus, is grave. This was announced on Sunday by the press secretary of the politician Marina Soroka.

“Yes, unfortunately this is true. The test showed that Yulia Vladimirovna has COVID-19. The condition is assessed as serious. The temperature is up to 39. He is struggling,” Soroka wrote in Facebook.
According to Ukrainian media, together with Tymoshenko coronavirus got infected and her daughter Evgenia with her husband Artur Chechetkin. Where and when exactly Tymoshenko became infected is still unknown.
Earlier, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, noted that in general, since the beginning of the epidemic in the country, from 10 to 15 deputies fell ill with coronavirus. According to him, this figure is inaccurate, since not everyone reported about it.
According to the Ministry of Health, 1,987 new infections have been detected in Ukraine over the past 24 hours. During the pandemic, 104,958 cases of the disease have already been confirmed in the country, 51,735 people have recovered. Over the past day, 27 patients died, so the number of deaths due to coronavirus increased to 2,271.
The first case of coronavirus infection in Ukraine was detected on March 3 in the Chernivtsi region. Quarantine has been introduced in the country since March 17. On August 1, new rules for adaptive quarantine came into effect: Ukrainian regions are divided into four zones, in which, depending on the epidemic situation, different restrictions apply.
