Russia 2021: These are the origins of Beach Soccer

Although it is possible that hundreds of years ago, a sport similar to beach soccer was practiced, since the end of the 19th century it is believed that it began to be played much like we know it.

The Stadium at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex in Moscow, Russia, will host the start of the 2021 World Cup in Russia.

How could it be otherwise, Brazil was the cradle of modern beach soccer, although it is believed that European sailors who landed in Brazilian ports played soccer on the sand.

What if there is evidence is that the official competitions were played in Brazil since 1957.

It was not until the 1990s that the Beach Soccer Company emerged in the United States, which developed beach soccer events and created the Pro Beach Soccer Series tournament.

Then in Los Angeles they did a test tournament which was successful and it was found that this discipline could have a hobby.

The “Selecta” from El Salvador will be one of the CONCACAF representatives at the 2021 World Cup in Russia.

In Miami, Florida, an international tournament was organized that was witnessed by 6 thousand people in 1993 and that attracted the attention of North Americans.

Then the beach soccer fever moved to Europe where the European Pro Beach Soccer League was founded. Subsequently, Beach Soccer Worldwide arises which was recognized by FIFA and began to organize matches around the world.

The United States will also represent the continent in Russia 2021.
