The cities in NRW and especially in the Ruhr area are everything, but not worth living. At least that’s what a recent study says. How does this happen?

The Company Brandmeyer Markenberatung the study “City as a brand”. In the study is it about them Perception of cities in the population in various topics such as quality of life, attractiveness, reasons to move to this city, and future prospects.
These are loud Brandmeyer brand consulting also in 2020 10,000 people about the 49 largest cities, including Schwerin (capital of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania).

In the so-called Brand strength–Ranking Only two manage it with Cologne (5th place) and Münster (9th place) NRW cities in the top ten. Düsseldorf follows in 15th place. Aachen (19th) and Bonn (27th) follow with midfield. On the Places 35 to 50 shows up a big smack for that Ruhr area, which is currently also an absolute Corona hotspot (all news about Corona in NRW in the live ticker * on RUHR24.de).

Dortmund (35th), Mülheim / Ruhr (39th), Essen (40th), Bochum (42nd), Hamm (43rd), Hagen (45th), Oberhausen (48th), Gelsenkirchen (49th) and Duisburg (50th) form the bottom group. “The image of the Ruhr area has unfortunately changed in the last ten years, even though a lot is being done in the various cities,” said Peter Pirck to RUHR24.de.

Industrial romance between the headframe and steelworks? Currywurst and beer as a cultural asset? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that. Both 10,000 respondents comes that Ruhr area gone really bad. And that although there will be numerous projects in the future, such as the International Garden Show in 2027 or even the Olympic Games in 2032.

People between 30 and 49 and over 50 also find the cities in the Rhineland or Münster more attractive.
