‘Rugby player Renée was possibly still alive when she was set on fire’ | Inland

Relatives had requested an outside investigation asking whether Renée had been burned dead or alive. This investigation concluded that remnants of fire-accelerating substances were found in her brain tissue. This could indicate that she was still alive when the suspect started the fire. This conclusion is different from an earlier study conducted by the NFI.

The public prosecutor announced on Tuesday that he would again submit the new results to the NFI. The final conclusion may be of great importance for the substantive handling of the final criminal case on 10 May. If the victim was set on fire alive, the Public Prosecution Service assumes murder, it became clear on Tuesday. At the moment, the Scheveninger T. is still suspected of stabbing Renée to death, touching some body parts and setting fire to the remains to disguise the crime.

After a night out

The burning body of the HRC rugby player was found in a patch of grass along Doorninksestraat in Scheveningen on the night of May 22 to 23. Rescuers couldn’t do anything anymore. The day after, Ferry T. was arrested in his home in Scheveningen. There are audio recordings of the incident from nearby cameras. The death of Renée, who was on her way home after a night out with her team, hit like a bomb. She was the second female victim of the Hague Rugby Club to be killed by violence. She played on the team created to commemorate Ximena who was murdered by Stanley A.

Ferry T. again announced on Tuesday that he would try to get all the events of May 22 to 23 in a row. He says he can barely remember what happened. He also previously indicated that he hoped to be able to provide the relatives with clarity on 10 May. “I am now also taking therapy for that,” he told the judge.

‘Family living in nightmare’

The relatives of Renée tried Tuesday through a lawyer to get their hands on the file about the suspect from the Pieter Baan Center (PBC). Due to a lot of privacy-sensitive information about third parties in the report, the judge decided to only provide answers to a few questions and a conclusion. The lawyer for the relatives said that the family is living in a nightmare and is trying to get all the facts as good as possible. “This is the last thing they can do for their daughter,” she said in an emotional speech on behalf of the family. One of the recommendations from the PBC is that Ferry T. should in any case be given tbs with compulsory treatment.
