The Utah All-Star center was the first infected in the NBA
The pivot Utah Jazz and first NBA player for COVID-19, Rudy Gobert, has acknowledged in recent statements collected by NBC Sports that still carries sequels of the virus. The natural player from France has not yet recovered his sense of smell.
“The taste is back, but I still can’t smell 100 percent. I can smell something, but not from afar. I spoke with the specialist doctors and they explained that it could take up to a year ”, he explained.
Gobert tested positive on March 11, and since then the league has decided to close out out of fear of multiple infections. Who also suffered the hit of the virus was his partner Donovan Mitchell, who they assure that his relationship with the French player has been cooled.
Despite the aftermath there will be no problem for Rudy Gobert who feels fully prepared for the restart of the league starting July 30 in Orlando. Donovan Mitchell will also be present; however the third star of Salt Lake City, Bojan Bogdanovic, is confirmed confirmed after undergoing surgery to operate on his right wrist.
In the current regular season the center has played 62 official matches (all of them as a starter) with averages of 15.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2 blocks in 34.5 minutes.
