Ruben Nicolai has found a fine balance between private and work in his life and is currently feeling a “happy egg”. With challenging work, beautiful daughters and a new love, the comedian and television host has a lot to be happy about, he says in an interview with Flair.
Nicolai, 45, says that he no longer has to do everything himself and no longer has to be friends with everyone, which used to be different.
“As you get older, you separate the wheat from the chaff. It makes a difference that I am a father, so my priorities are elsewhere and I let things slide off more easily.”
Nicolai has two daughters, eight and thirteen years old, and wants to teach them things in a fun way. “In the real world, not everyone is always cheerful, sweet and nice, so I also show them my emotions and sometimes I am angry or sad. Yet I hope that I am above all a cheerful father.”
Nicolai divorced the mother of his daughters six years ago. They are therefore not with him every day. “Maybe that’s why I am relaxed in this situation. When my daughters are there, I am a teacher, the boy from the ICT and the animation team, but I am not complaining. Everyone is healthy and it is secretly fun to keep the children day around me. “
