Rp 20 billion in funds belonging to a Maybank customer disappeared, this is what the OJK did

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Financial Fervices Authority ( OJK) plans to evaluate the internal control system of PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (BNII) related to the embezzlement case customer performed by officers Maybank.

“OJK supervisors will evaluate the internal supervision system bank so that in the future banks can avoid fraud committed by unscrupulous banks, “said OJK Deputy Commissioner for Public Relations and Logistics, Anto Prabowo, as quoted from Kontan.co.id, Monday (9/11/2020).

As reported, Winda D Lunardi alias Winda Earl who is an e-sports athlete or gamer and his mother, Floletta Lizzy Wiguna, lost around Rp. 20 billion which was deposited in Maybank Indonesia.

Bareskrim Polri has also named one suspect who incidentally is a bank employee, namely the Head of the Maybank Cipulir Branch with the initials A.

Regarding this matter, Anto appealed to Maybank to immediately hold it investigation related to this case. Because from the results of the investigation it was found that the suspect also falsified the victim’s account so that it seemed as if the victim’s funds remained in his account.

Anto asked Maybank to immediately follow up on the protection of its customers.

“We remind the bank to immediately conduct an investigation into the alleged farud. For customers, we also encourage banks to immediately take further steps in terms of protecting their customers, “said Anto.

President Director of Maybank Taswin Zakaria previously stated in an official statement that his party had indeed conducted a related investigation. In fact, he admitted that the report to the police was actually carried out by the company.
