Rossi’s blood freezes after making a stupid mistake

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Valentino Rossi confessed that his blood froze after realizing he made a stupid mistake during his auto racing debut GT World Challenge Europe 2022 at Imola Circuit, Italy, Sunday (3/4).

Rossi and Team WRT, which was strengthened by Frederic Vervisch and Nico Muller, finished in 17th position in the GT World Challenge Europe 2022 series in Italy.

The Doctor and the team should be able to achieve a higher finishing position. But Rossi made a mistake when the race left 1 hour. Rossi, who was driving the Audi R8 LMS, should have changed drivers.

However, Rossi made a rookie mistake, namely missing the team’s garage and having to do one more lap before making a driver change. Even though at that time Rossi and the team were in 14th position.

“It’s a shame that we could have done better, but I made a stupid mistake that cost us a lot of time. I got into the pitlane and unfortunately my mechanic with the marker was blocked by another car. I looked for him but he came out too late. I kept looking , but he is not visible,” said Rossi quoted from Sky Sports.

“When I realized I had passed the team garage, my blood froze. Until before that incident we did everything right and we performed fast. The next target is to penetrate the top 10 positions,” said Rossi.

In the video circulating on social media, Rossi looks confused looking for the team’s garage. The mechanic carrying the marker tried to catch up and alert Rossi, but the nine-time Grand Prix world champion didn’t notice.

My mistake for not paying attention to the mechanical marker was the rookie’s fault [rookie], I tried to find and pass by without looking. With a little more experience I will be able to understand my stopping point, without having to look for a mechanic with a marker,” said Rossi.

Rossi will undergo 10 races in the GT World Challenge Europe 2022. The second series will take place at the Brands Hatch Circuit, England, from April 30 to May 1.
