Star football striker Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United apologized for the conflict with the fan after Saturday’s 0: 1 loss to Everton. The supporters want to invite to another match at Old Trafford.
The incident occurred after the United United unexpectedly failed to save Everton. Angry Ronaldo ran after one of the fans as he left the field and, according to witnesses, knocked out his cell phone.
The fan was supposed to be a fourteen-year-old boy suffering from autism, Jake Harding. His mother Sarah Kelly described the whole situation to the English media. Her son allegedly filmed Ronald’s bleeding leg, he didn’t talk to the football player at all.
“Jake was in complete shock. He’s autistic, he also has dyspraxia, so he didn’t really notice what was going on until he got home. He’s very disappointed, he doesn’t want to go to the next match. This one was his first and this happened.” Kelly described for Liverpool Echo.
The 37-year-old captain of the Portuguese national team later apologized at the instagram, “It’s not easy to keep your nerves in check in difficult times like us,” Ronaldo wrote.
“Nevertheless, we always have to be patient and respect others to set an example for children who love football,” added the five-time Golden Ball winner for the world’s best player.
“That’s why I apologize for my outburst, and if possible, I would like to invite the fan to one of the next matches at Old Trafford as a gesture of fair play,” added the 2016 European Champion.
United, who have already begun investigating Ronald’s incident, ranks seventh in the Premier League standings after defeating Everton. However, they are already six points apart from the positions ensuring the start in the Champions League.
