Neymar Makes Debut with Al Hilal, Assists in Victory over Al Riyadh

Neymar finally debuted with his new club, Al Hilal. The Brazilian bomber came on as a substitute and contributed one assist to the win The Blue Waves.

Al Hilal signed Neymar in the summer window of 2023. Neymar was brought in from Paris Saint Germain with a dowry of 90 million euros (Rp. 1.5 years) and a two-year contract.

Neymar’s arrival at Al Hilal did not immediately make him appear on the field. The 31-year-old striker missed the start of the match due to a congenital ankle injury.

Neymar began to recover when entering the international break. He was called to Brazilian National Team and played as a starter against Bolivia and Peru in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Neymar immediately flew to Saudi Arabia after playing for the Brazilian national team. He was included in Al Hilal’s squad when they hosted Al Riyadh, Saturday (16/9/2023) early morning WIB.

Neymar started the Al Hilal vs Al Riyadh match from the substitute bench. He came on in the 64th minute to replace Michael when his team was 2-0 up.

This match also marked Neymar’s debut with Al Hilal. Neymar’s presence also makes the attack line The Blue Waves become more dynamic.

Al Hilal scored four additional goals after Neymar entered the field. Neymar even providing an assist for Al Hilal’s fourth goal scored by Malcom.

Al Riyadh reduced the deficit through Ali Al Zaqaan’s goal in second half injury time. The match ended in favor of Al Hilal 6-1.

The victory over Al Riyadh brought Al Hilal to the top of the standings with 16 points. Jorge Jesus’ troops are one point ahead of the defending champions of the Saudi Pro League, Al Ittihad.
