Romanian Foreign Ministry responded harshly – UNIAN

The Foreign Ministry confirms Romania’s full support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev again plunged into an international scandal by showing in his social networks a redrawn map with Ukraine allegedly through the eyes of “Western analysts”.

Medvedev posted the scandalous post on his Telegram yesterday, July 27. Today there was a reaction from the Romanian Foreign Ministry.

On the published map of Medvedev, the Russians left Ukraine only the Kyiv region. At the same time, Chernivtsi and Vinnitsa regions were “given” to Romania, and Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lvov, Rivne regions and Volyn – to Poland.

The rest of the territory, according to the vision of Putin’s friend, is occupied by Russia.

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania dismissed Medvedev’s sentiments, noting that the map is nothing more than a tool of propaganda and disinformation that Russia used for years prior to its invasion of Ukraine.

The MFA reaffirms Romania’s full support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and reiterates its condemnation of Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine.

“Romania is and will remain a partner of Ukraine and reaffirms its full support and deep compassion for the Ukrainian people who have suffered from brutal aggression,” the ministry’s response reads.

War in Ukraine: current data

Russia is conducting a slow offensive in the Donbas, trying to advance in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

After a series of failed assaults, Russia, the General Staff stated, had partial tactical success in the directions of settlements Soledar and Vershina.

The enemy’s attempts to carry out assault operations in the directions of the settlements of Yakovlevka, Bakhmut and Semigorye also failed.

In the morning the General Staff reported about the successful reflection of the assault of the enemy near Belogorovka, Kherson region.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine with precise strikes inflicted great damage on the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson, along which the occupiers are moving personnel, equipment and ammunition.

This, according to many experts, will not only impede the vital supply of ammunition to Russian troops in that direction, but also threaten to completely cut off one of the enemy groupings.
