“Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have switched tennis several times”

Like his eternal rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic also had to make changes to his tennis. After the successful conclusion of the 2013 season at the Nitto ATP Finals in London, the number 1 in the world started in 2014 with the hiring of Boris Becker as a new coach alongside Marian Vajda.

In the three years of their collaboration, the Serbian veteran has won the beauty of six Grand Slam titles and 14 Masters 1000. Nole and Boris split in December 2016, but their relationship remained amicable and the two exchanged certificates of appreciation.

In a recent interview with Eurosport, the German legend spoke about how he helped Djokovic get even closer to Federer and Nadal. The 33-year-old Serb is now three titles behind the Swiss and Spanish with 17 majors.

Djokovic, the youngest of the Big 3, has a very good chance of overtaking Federer in the weekly table at the top of the ATP rankings.

Becker: “Djokovic has stopped improving”

“When we started working together, I promised him that I would always be honest with him.

The reason he wasn’t feeling well at the time was because – after becoming number 1 in the world – he stopped improving. Other players like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal had changed their game several times.

I explained to him that I didn’t like his position on the court at all and that his serve also needed revision. This is the ability that enabled the Big 3 to stay at the top ”- said Becker.

Djokovic is the big favorite to win the Australian Open 2021, having won the title eight times at Melbourne Park. Above all, Novak has to watch out for Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem, without forgetting the spatial performance that Daniil Medvedev has offered recently.
