Rockefeller Center’s traditional ice rink opens for a short season – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – Ice skating returns to Rockefeller Center this weekend. It’s the latest Christmas staple to return to New York City during a pandemic that has already swept away or disrupted so many winter traditions in the Big Apple.

The Rockefeller Center ice rink is scheduled to open for the fall and winter season on November 21 and will be open until January 17. Due to COVID-19, the number of skaters will be limited by physical distancing.

The tickets they are available to those who have reservations during the eight-week skating season; the daily schedule is from 9:00 am to 12 am

The first day of skating will not start until 2:00 pm, and only some time slots were available on Friday afternoon.

The iconic skating rink, which first opened in 1936 and became a permanent fixture of the downtown Christmas season in 1939, will close earlier than normal this year due to a planned renovation.

More than a quarter of a million people visit the track annually, but this year will be very different. Visitors can only enjoy the track until January 17.
