Roberto De la Tore Aguayo is elected new president of the Lima Chamber of Commerce

The Electoral Committee of this process, which elected Roberto De la Tore Aguayo, was chaired by Eduardo Escardó de la Fuente and was made up of Carlos Mujica Barreda, Juan Manuel Ostoja Carmelino, Guillermo Grellaud Guzmán, Pedro Tomatis Chiappe, Cecilia Tarrillo Aguilar, Lucrecia Linares Zaferson de Perales and Dolores Guevara Pasache de Lavalle.

The Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) elected Roberto De la Tore Aguayo as the new president of the institution for the period 2024-2025, replacing Rosa Bueno de Lercari, who served in the position in two successive periods, since April from 2022 until April of this year.

The president-elect, who will be sworn in next Thursday, April 18, has been vice president of the CCL during the periods 2008-2010 and 2018-2019; and currently chairs the Foreign Trade Guild (XCOM) of the Chamber.

De la Tore Aguayo has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lima, with postgraduate studies at the National Customs School – SUNAT with the title of Customs Agent, as well as in the ESAN Annual International Trade Program. In addition, he attended the Management Development program at the PAD of the School of Management of the University of Piura.

In his professional career, the CCL union leader was president of the board of directors of the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (Corpac) in 2023 and served as vice president of the Barrio Seguro Board, during the period 2021-2023.

In addition, the brand new president-elect of the CCL is part of the Consultative Group on Customs Issues of SUNAT-Customs and the Joint Multisectoral Commission of the National Export Strategic Plan (PENX) of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR). He was also a member of the Special Commission of the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE) of MINCETUR.

Likewise, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism – Promperú (2007-2021) and the Council of Port Users – OSITRAN (2015-2017, 2019-March 2023). He has participated in the OSITRAN Road Network Council (2015-2019) and in the OSITRAN Airport Users Council (2018-2020).

He was also general manager at the company Enlace Aduanero SA (1998-2014) and is currently general manager at Enlace Multimodal SAC, since 2002.

NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

At the Ordinary General Assembly, the members of the new Board of Directors were also elected. As part of this, Hernán Lanzara Lostaunau and Leonardo López Espinoza will have the functions of first vice president and second vice president of the CCL, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jaime García Díaz will assume the position of treasurer, while Juan Antonio Castro Molina, Jorge Ochoa Garmendia, Luis Guillermo Marroquín Postigo and Gabriela Fiorini Travi will be members. They will also be sworn in on April 18.
