Just before 4 p.m. on the 7th, a road collapsed at an intersection in Yodogawa Ward, Osaka, and water overflowed from underground, flooding the area.
Osaka City, which manages the road, is investigating the cause of the accident, as sewage pipe construction was being carried out nearby.

Around 3:50 p.m. on the 7th, a person passing by reported to the police that the road had caved in at an intersection in Higashi Mikuni, Yodogawa Ward.
The road near the intersection has caved in for about 10 meters, and water is flooding from underground.
According to police, no one was injured and the overflowing water stopped around 4:40 p.m.
At the site, water can be seen gradually receding from around 5 p.m.
According to Osaka City, sewage pipe construction was underway near the intersection at the site.
Police closed nearby roads to regulate traffic, and Osaka City, which manages the roads, is investigating the cause.
The site is located approximately 300 meters west of Osaka Metro’s Higashi-Mikuni Station, in a corner of an area lined with restaurants and apartments.

According to the City of Osaka, construction work was underway near the intersection at the time to dig a hole 7 meters wide and 20 meters deep to install an additional sewage pipe.
When we interviewed the workers, it was revealed that groundwater had been seeping out of the hole just before the accident, and Osaka City said that the groundwater and soil had flowed out, causing the cave-in, and the water pipes were damaged at that time. I think it may have happened.
