The fastest time of the first free practice session of the Road America IMSA meeting went to Ricky Taylor in 1:50.539. The Acura DPi/Wayne Taylor Racing driver was ahead of Earl Bamber (Cadillac/Ganassi) by 296 thousandths. Third time for Pipo Derani in the Cadillac DPi/Whelen Racing Engineering.
Ryan Dalziel beat the competition in LMP2 for Era Motorsport. Malthe Jakobsen put the Sean Creech Motorsports/Ligier JS P320 at the top of the LMP3 category timesheet.
Of the two GTD categories combined, Robert Megennis was the fastest in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3/CarBahn with Peregrine Racing. Jaden Conwright, on the Lamborghini Huracan GT3/NTE SSR took the 2nd fastest time. You have to go down to 4th place to find traces of the best ranked GTD Pro, namely Connor De Phillippi’s BMW M4 GT3/RLL.
