Interest in the services of the Czech Post is falling, so in order to compensate for the drop in income, it is raising prices. And because it’s getting more expensive, interest is falling further, so prices have to go up again. Valid from July 1 new price list, already the third in the last year. Priority registered writing (up to 50 grams) with delivery of additional work prices now costs 79 instead of 69 CZK. There are three ways to save. It is possible to choose economic delivery within the third working day after submission, that is “only” for 72 CZK. You save two crowns with a pre-filled electronic submission, and another two crowns is a discount if you have a ČP customer card. The cheapest recommended writing costs 68 CZK.
In this light, postal data messages, which cost CZK 10 from this year, look a little better. PDZs are the electronic equivalent of recommended writing, running on a data box system. You only pay for writing to companies or private individuals, on the other hand, correspondence with authorities (public authorities) is free. And with whom other than the authorities does the average citizen today need to communicate in a more trustworthy way than e-mail.
