Riot Games discusses the future of Valorant and its post-launch plans

Riot Games tells us a little more about how episodes and acts work, as well as how often agents are released.

Anna Donlon, the executive producer in charge of the Valorant project, recently published a video to talk about the future of Valorant as well as the different plans for the future of the game. Although the game was available since June 2, it took almost three weeks to have access to the classified games and the competition mode, but a lot is to be expected for the weeks and months to come.

In summary :

• each episode will last 6 months
• The implementation of a new episode will be an opportunity to see new major functions appear
• the arrival of a new episode will mark an important stage in Valorant (new maps, new functions, etc.)
• each act will last 2 months
• there will be 3 acts per episode
• There will be a new agent at the end of each new act
• There will be a total of 6 new agents per year
• Each act will tell the story of Valorant and give new insights into the game
• There will be a new combat pass for each act
• There will be new weapon skins every one or two weeks

As previously announced, the developers will now tackle the ergonomics of the game, to improve it, but the team is also working on early surrenders, the possibility of canceling games, timeouts, providing better protection to streamers, improve the user experience, and of course, the implementation of many balances to preserve the state of the game.

Anna Dalon announced that the next big content of the game will arrive with the beginning of act 2 of episode 1. She also took the opportunity to give information about the episodes and how they work; each episode will have a duration of 6 months and each act will last 2 months, which implies that there will therefore be 3 acts per episode. Obviously, the agenda will be flexible and subject to certain modifications depending on holidays and celebrations. There will be a new agent at the end of each new act, so a total of 6 new agents per year.
