Besides Electricity, Solar Subsidies Decline Rp. 500 Liters in 2021: Economy Economy

JAKARTA – The subsidy budget for the type of Solar Fuel (BBM) in 2021 is set at Rp500 per liter. This figure is lower than the realization of the type of Solar fuel subsidies this year which amounted to Rp1,000 per liter.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said, the volume of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) is targeted at 15.79 kiloliters (kl). This figure consists of the volume of subsidized kerosene of 0.45 to 0.50 kilo liters.

As for the volume of diesel oil 15.31 to 15.80 kiloliters. As for the volume of LPG gas subsidies are targeted at 7 to 7.5 Metricton.

“With more and more cities having jargas and there is an increase in gas consumption with a pandemic as well as a concrete increase in fishermen and farmers and an estimated realization of 2020 consumption volume of 6.89 MT,” he said in a working meeting with the House of Representatives, Monday (6/29/2020).

Besides fuel, the actual electricity subsidy budget has also decreased. The budget for electricity subsidies amounted to Rp50.47 trillion to Rp54.55 trillion in the 2021 State Budget and Expenditure (RAPBN) or decreased compared to the current year’s electricity subsidy of Rp54.79 trillion.

There are several considerations of the proposed electricity subsidy. The first is adjusting to the exchange rate pegged at Rp. 13,700 to Rp. 14,900 per USD.

In addition, the proposed electricity subsidy also considers the price of crude oil in Indonesia (ICP). The ICP in the 2021 RAPBN itself is pegged at USD42 to USD45 per barrel per day.

“Although in 2021 there is no revocation of electricity subsidies, the proposed subsidy in the RAPBN is Rp50.47-Rp54.55 trillion, assuming a dollar exchange rate of Rp. 13,700 to 14,900 per dollar and ICP of USD42-45 per barrel,” he explained.
