Legend Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand, surprised by how it still survives Phil Jones at Old Trafford. He thought Jones should have left there.
Jones has been with Man United for a decade, since being bought from Blackburn Rovers in 2011. In total he has appeared 224 times, and won each of the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League titles.
Jones’ contract at Man United still runs until 2023. However, he has not played in the main squad for the last 18 months after suffering from a knee injury.
Position Phil Jones from Manchester United increasingly sinking after the club signed Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. The former England defender is also reportedly on the list of selling Red Devils players.
Even so, Jones is currently still not leaving Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the manager of Man United actually released a young defender, Axel Tuanzebe, to Aston Villa on loan.
Jones’s persistence in the Man United squad received comments from Rio Ferdinand. The former Red Devils defender accused Jones’ existence of hindering the potential of young players like Tuanzebe.
“He takes the position of a youth team player in the squad now. In fact, he has been hit by many injuries,” said Ferdinand, quoted from The Sun.

“I was on the same team as Phil Jones. He came from Blackburn as a young boy and everyone said he was going to be a great player. He had potential but injuries really ruined his career, not to mention the confidence problems at the time. certain time,” Rio Ferdinand add.
