“Riga Ghetto Basket” basketball players celebrate their first victory in the Estonian tournament this season

Latvia’s leading 3×3 basketball team “Riga Ghetto Basket” won the fourth stage of the “3×3 Tallinn Open Quest Tour” tournament held in Estonia on Saturday, while the “Ventspils Ghetto” team took the third place.

It has already been reported that several leading men’s 3×3 basketball teams are planning to take part in the competition series in Estonia this summer.

The Riga team was placed in subgroup A in the tournament, but Ventspils players played in group B. “Riga Ghetto Basket” was represented in this tournament by Nauris Miezis, Edgars Krūmiņš, Klāvs Čavars and Artūrs Strēlnieks, but in the Kurzeme team Roberts Pāže, Armands Seņkāns, Mārtiņš Šteinbergs and Mārtiņš Rozenbergs joined.

The Rigans won the local “vana hea” in the first game with 22:12, the “Keerutus Liigutus” basketball players were defeated in the next duel with 22:13, and the “Vanakoolimehed” team was defeated in the final duel with 21:19.

“Suht savi” won the “Ventspils Ghetto” main tournament with 21:10, then “EMU” basketball players were defeated with 20:13, but in the third fight with 21:18 the “Sospa Sharpshooters” team was defeated.

The victory in their subgroup automatically guaranteed both Latvian teams a place in the semi-finals, where the Rigans won the local “KK Viimsi” with 21:15, but “Ventspils Ghetto” lost “Boft” with 16:19.

In the final, the strongest 3×3 basketball team in Latvia defeated their compatriots with 20:13. Meanwhile, in the bronze game, Ventspils defeated “KK Viimsi” with 21:20.

This was the first tournament for both Latvian teams this season.

The tournament also took place in U-13, U-15 and U-18 age groups, but Latvian teams were not represented in these competitions. The ladies also did not take part in the tournament.

Also in Latvia, 3×3 basketball is planned to form its own professional league, in which domestic athletes would forge their skills.

The first race of the FIBA ​​World Tour is currently scheduled for mid-August in Manila.
