RIA professionals are trained in diversity issues

In order to train the Province’s Childhood and Adolescence Network (RIA), teams from the Municipality of San Antonio carried out a conference in the form of videoconferences.

Cycle of trainings developed jointly by the Office for the Protection of the Rights of Boys, Girls and Adolescents (OPD) and the Diversity, Inclusion and Non-Discrimination Program; where the last meeting was titled Sexual Diversity of Boys, Girls and Adolescents.

The main objective was to address the issue that is framed within the four basic principles of the approach to the rights of children and adolescents; it is also a benchmark for the inclusion of those diversities that have historically been excluded and discriminated against, ”explained Carolina Martínez, coordinator of OPD San ​​Antonio.

Conference where matters related to sex and gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, transsexuality, mental health, Law 20,609, among other topics were presented.

As a program we believe that these spaces are quite nutritious since it allows us to go deeper and train people; especially to officials and professionals from different areas in what has to do with respect for sexual diversity in boys, girls and adolescents in the commune and in the province. ”, commented Marco Malhue, coordinator of the Diversity, Inclusion Program and Non-Discrimination San Antonio.

Training that culminated in a space for reflection, opinions and consultations on the part of the professionals that make up the RIA.
