The clinical trial of a potential Covid-19 vaccine begins this Monday in the United States, the US news agency AP announced from government sources.

“The first participant in the trial will receive the experimental vaccine on Monday, said an American government official on condition of anonymity because the trial has not yet been publicly announced,” said the AP news agency. It will take between a year and 18 months to fully validate any potential vaccine.
As a reminder, the bar of 2,000 deaths due to the new coronavirus in Europe was crossed on Sunday, bringing the toll to more than 6,000 deaths around the world, where population confinements and border closings are increasing.
The country hardest hit in Europe by the pandemic, Italy on Sunday recorded a record number of 368 new deaths in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,809.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Europe is the “epicenter” of the disease. The European Union has placed restrictions on exports of protective medical equipment to guarantee its own supply.
The second most affected country in Europe, Spain has confined its population and declared a state of alert for 15 days.
