Rhineland-Palatinate for upper limit for private parties

Due to the increasing number of corona cases, several federal states are in favor of uniformly limiting the number of participants in private celebrations nationwide – including Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to a survey by the German Press Agency, Berlin, Lower Saxony and Hamburg, among others, support this. Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are against uniform upper limits for family celebrations, weddings and birthday parties.

Upper limit or stricter requirements for private parties?

Private celebrations are one of the main reasons for the increasing number of infections. Some states, including Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, are considering tightening the requirements for private celebrations. At a video conference on Thursday, the prime ministers of the federal states want to discuss this issue with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

The upper limit in Rhineland-Palatinate is 75

In Rhineland-Palatinate, the upper limit for private celebrations indoors and outdoors is currently 75 people. In addition, the group of people must be determined in advance. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a maximum of 50 people are permitted for family celebrations, and 75 for weddings, youth consecrations or religious celebrations, as well as for weddings and burials. In Schleswig-Holstein, events in closed rooms with up to 250 participants are allowed.
