Brad Pitt can be admired again after three years in the lead role of a cinema film. In the violent Bullet Train the actor plays a hit man who has one last job to do. Reviewers are pleased with Pitt’s acting, but have some complaints about the shaky story.

“It doesn’t have to be exciting, it’s all about the fun and the kick. It is not entirely by chance that the director on duty is David Leitch, previously responsible for cartoonish action films such as John Wick in Deadpool 2. The plot, with a new twist practically every minute, is as watertight as a punctured swimming pool. It certainly embraces its own craziness. And with Pitt on board, it never really gets boring.”

Waar gaat Bullet Train over?

“It’s a shame to see so many capable actors being used so poorly. The jokes are difficult, although Pitt does occasionally get the laughs on his side. But the script makes it difficult for him to be effortlessly funny, something that Pitt normally excels at.”

“Bullet Train is the kind of unpretentious blockbuster that usually does well in the summer months. The film is unbalanced, the gimmick with flashbacks and subplots gets irritating after a while and the story continues just over two hours too long. But at the same time, Leitch has put enough momentum and finds into the story that it won’t let the viewer’s attention for a moment.”

According to the reviewer of CNN is doing Bullet Train sometimes reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino’s style. “Unfortunately, the story doesn’t have enough power to measure up to his work. Even extended flashbacks can’t add enough to the story to make it more immersive. Although the film is not yet another sequel, it doesn’t feel even remotely like There are quite exciting elements to this ride, but we wouldn’t recommend a ticket for this train journey.”

“The fight scenes are quite original, which is impressive given the large number of filmmakers who want to distinguish themselves in this genre. Director Leitch doesn’t put the violence in the lead, but it’s about the choreography and the element of surprise.”
