Reveals the reason why 4,000 households were left without electricity on Thursday morning – in the Regions

Today’s power outage in Sēlija – Viesīte and Nereta area was caused by an accident in Lithuania – at 7.52 The crane broke the medium voltage power line, in the accident the broken wires hit and disconnected the 110 kV line, which at that time ensured the supply of electricity from Lithuania to the substations in Viesīte and Nereta.

In connection with the planned repair of the 110 kV line Jēkabpils – Viesīte of JSC “Augstsprieguma tīkls” (AST) Viesīte, Nereta was supplied this morning from the Paroveja substation in Lithuania. After the accident, JSC “Sadales tīkls” operatively made switches, ensuring the supply of customers via the medium voltage (20 kV) network at 08:39.

After the accident, AST promptly prepared the 110 kV line Jēkabpils – Viesīte under repair for commissioning and at 10:08 it was switched on, restoring the power supply to substations in Viesīte and Nereta from the 110 kV network, while at At 11:24 the defect in Lithuania was fixed and the line from Latvia to Paroveja in Lithuania was put into operation.

Already postedthat the electricity supply was disrupted on Thursday morning by about 4,000 customers of the “Distribution Network”. The company stated that due to the storm, several damage to the electricity network has been registered, which has caused power supply disruptions to customers in the central and eastern part of the country.
