Revealed! Melon Gas Subsidy Up to IDR 33,750/Tube

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati revealed, the amount of the subsidy for 3 kg LPG or known as melon tube gas. Nicke revealed that the total subsidy per 3 kg LPG cylinder reached Rp 33,750.

Nicke explained that 93 percent of the LPG sold by Pertamina is subsidized. He said the subsidy per kg for LPG was Rp 11,250.

“The fact is that 93 percent of LPG sold today is subsidized. How much is the subsidy, 11,250 per kg,” he said in a hearing with Commission VII, Wednesday (6/4/2022).

Thus, the total subsidy for 3 kg LPG is Rp. 33,750. “So, once carrying a 3 kg tube, that’s a subsidy from the government, Rp. 33,750,” he added.

Meanwhile, the current price of 3 Kg LPG is sold in the range of Rp. 21 thousand per cylinder.

Nicke hopes that the distribution of the 3 kg LPG is right on target. He hopes that the government will detail the criteria for receiving 3 kg LPG.

“So please, this must also be right on target. If it reaches 93%, right, 93% of the Indonesian people are underprivileged and sell warteg. So this is what I agreed earlier that we will do monitoring, and we also ask the government to be more detailed in the criteria, users,” he said.
