CIANJUR, KOMPAS.com – The case of a customer who lost money in Cianjur, West Java, finally ended.
Previously, a number of customers admitted to losing money in their personal accounts.
Some customers receive notifications regarding withdrawals of money in their accounts.
In fact, customers feel that they have not made any withdrawals or transactions.
The cause is known
Head of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Cianjur Yoni Ariyanto previously stated that the bank had received complaints from customers.
The BRI also directly conducted the investigation.
As a result, BRI Cianjur ensures that customers are victims of crime skimming.
Skimming is an act of theft of credit or debit card information by illegally copying the information contained on the magnetic stripe of a credit or debit card.
Previously, the Cianjur Police Criminal Investigation Unit also suspected that the loss of the customer’s money was the result of an act skimming.
Reimbursement of customer money
Yoni Ariyanto said that some of the customer’s money that had been lost from the account balance had been replaced.
“There are 76 customers who have been replaced,” said Yoni in a press conference, Friday (9/4/2021).
Yoni admitted that he did not know exactly how much money the customer had reimbursed by the BRI head office.
“Regarding data, it is at the head office. So, events skimming This is the investigation by the central BRI investigation desk team, ”said Yoni.
In addition, they also do not know the exact total number of customers who have been victims of skimming, including the total value of customer money who mysteriously disappeared from the account balance.
“The total number is still being investigated. The investigation is still ongoing. Whether or not all 76 of these people have been investigated is still awaiting the results of the head office investigation,” said Yoni.
