Retiring, Greysia Polii Expresses Gratitude and Thank You

KOMPAS.com – Badminton specialist women’s doubles Greysia Polii has taken the decision to end his career in the world of sports that has made his name.

Greysia Polii hasn’t officially announced yet pension. He will convey this in an event entitled Greysia Polii: Testimonial Day on Sunday (12/6/2022).

The event will take place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, at 09.00 WIB or a few hours before the final match Indonesia Masters 2022 is held.

Greysia Polii also expresses gratitude and thanks, especially to PBSI which has been his shelter since 2003.

“First of all, I want to express my gratitude for everything that has happened until now. After struggling to choose badminton since childhood until now, accompanied and welcomed by my sponsors, I want to thank you,” said Greysia in a press conference held also attended by Kompas.com, Friday (3/6/2022).

“As we know, when athletes give their best for Indonesia, PBSI and other parties also want to appreciate their athletes who will stop as players,” said Greysia Polii.

“There are no other words than gratitude to God. I want to thank PBSI for 19 years as a home for me as an athlete,” he said.

“It’s not only the current management, but also the previous ones who have made my career and that of other athletes become champions and bring out the best in their abilities,” said Greysia Polii.

Meanwhile, PBSI through the Daily Chair Alex Tirta also expressed his gratitude for the dedication and achievements given by Greysia Polii.

“I thank Greysia for her dedication to Indonesian badminton. When PBSI heard about the plan for this event, PBSI really appreciated and supported it,” said Alex Tirta.

“Greysia is something extraordinary for PBSI. It’s not a short time for Greysia to take part in badminton. For 19 years Greysia has been at PBSI and of course, an extraordinary struggle, ups and downs, ups and downs, has been passed by Greysia,” he said.

“We both know that Greysia has produced champions in multi-events such as the SEA Games, Asian Games and finally the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,” he said.
