Retail Outlets Owned by Chairul Tanjung Sued by PKPU Again, This Time by Wika Gedung

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Company retail owned by Chairul Tanjung, PT Trans Retail Indonesia or Transmart, is back facing a new lawsuit related to restructuring with the postponement of debt payment obligations (PKPU). This time the lawsuit came from PT Wijaya Karya Gedung Gedung Tbk.

PT Wijaya Karya Gedung Gedung Tbk. or Wika Gedung filed an application for PKPU Transmart to the Central Jakarta Commercial Court on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. In the petition, the lawsuit states:case number 29/Pdt.Sus-PKPU/2022/PN Niaga Jkt.Pst was mentioned by Wika Gedung asking the panel of judges to accept and grant all PKPU applications against Transmart.

There are at least four applications submitted, namely:

  • Firstassigns the status of the Temporary PKPU to the applicant PKPU namely PT Trans Retail Indonesia (Transmart), for a maximum of 45 (forty five) days from the date the decision is pronounced.
  • Second, appointed a supervisory judge from the Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court to oversee the process of postponing the debt payment obligation (PKPU) of Respondent PKPU PT. Trans Retail Indonesia.
  • Thirdappoint and appoint Sahat M Tamba, Wilhelmus Rio Resandhi, Suhenda to act as the Management Team to manage the respondent’s PKPU assets in the event that a Temporary PKPU is declared and/or appoint as Curator in the event that the PKPU respondent is declared bankrupt.
  • Fourthimpose the entire cost of the case to the applicant PKPU or if the panel of judges of the Central Jakarta PN that examines and adjudicates the case has other considerations, request a decision that is as fair as possible.
