Retail and museums are reopening in Cologne

From Monday, March 8th, the retail trade in Cologne can reopen. Museums, zoos and castles are also open again. However, visitors must book appointments in advance.

The next easing, decided by the federal and state governments at the beginning of March, will now come into force. The retail trade is allowed to reopen, but in some cases not in full.

Flower shops and garden centers, bookstores and stationery shops are allowed to resume operations without restrictions.

All other retail stores are only allowed to open with restricted access. Here appointment shopping is allowed according to the “click and meet” principle. That means customers must book an appointment with the store in advance, either by phone or in writing. How the respective contact options are depends on the store. In addition, only one customer may be admitted per 40 square meters of sales area.

Cultural sites also by appointment

Museums, galleries, zoos, castles and palaces are also allowed to reopen to visitors if an appointment is made in advance. One person is allowed to stay there for every 20 square meters of space.

In addition, services close to the body such as massage or cosmetics are allowed again, but in some cases only with a daily negative rapid test. This applies to applications where the customer does not wear a mask permanently. In addition, outdoor sports are now allowed without a gap between a maximum of five people from a total of two households. (lm / imago images / Revierfoto)
